The Legend of K/E Electric

K/E Electric Supply was founded by Wayne Kuchenmeister on October 31, 1988.

The first warehouse location opened in Mount Clemens, Michigan,
as a subsidiary of Wayne Kuchenmeister's original company,
Kuchenmeister Electric Supply founded in 1962.

In February 1991 a Port Huron, Michigan branch was opened,
with an addition to the warehouse completed in 1999.

Ownership of the company was transferred to Wayne's children (Cheryl, Rock and Randall) through years,
completing the transfer in 1991. Wayne officially retired in 1996, but remains on the
Board of Directors to this day.

In February 2001 Team K/E opened its third location in Livonia, Michigan.

In March 2006 Team K/E opened its forth location in Brighton, Michigan.

As a history lesson of the electrical industy, we have compiled several
short stories on the legends you made the industry possible for Team K/E.
Of course our favorite is the story of our founder.
